About Me

STRENGTH IN BODY & MIND

My love for health and fitness started when I was young. I was always fascinated by the human body and had a desire to learn all that I could about health and wellness. I started nursing school right out of high school and became an RN at the age of 20. I raised 4 boys and went back to nursing school to further my degree and completed my Bachelor's of Science in Nursing.

Once I got to my mid forties, I realized that waiting for people to show signs of aging and disease was not the time to start fixing things. As a nurse, all I could do was pass meds, perform treatments and procedures, and educate and it was far too late to really make a difference.

I began to study fitness and nutrition and also studied for my Master's of Leadership and Management in Nursing. I was in the last term of that program when my 46 y/o husband collapsed at work and died of sudden cardiac arrest. That life-changing event fueled me even more to make a difference in the lives of others to help them prevent chronic disease. I spent some time working as a personal trainer  evenings and weekends after leaving my day job as a nurse and I obtained my certification in functional nutrition. I fully believe that nutrition and exercise is the way to longevity and vitality and my goal is to spread awareness and help others create their best life and to be able to enjoy and share a healthy lifestyle with their loved ones!
